If you didn’t get the rank that you wanted in a mission, don’t worry.Some story battles are more forgiving than others and you can still get the best rank with half of your health gauge or less.However, you can also earn one by doing long combos, activating Boost and Surge, correctly performing your Ultimate Art, and finishing the fight as soon as possible. The fastest way to get an S rank is to finish a battle without receiving any damage.
There are a lot of variables that will decide which rank you get after winning a fight: the extension of your combos, the times you do special attacks and Ultimate Arts, how many seconds does the match lasts, and more.You first need to complete the mission in the former to unlock the latter. They come in two difficulties: normal and hard. Except for the Prologue, all the chapters have Special Missions.This is useful when you lose a fight and you want to quickly jump back to it.
